DIY: Earrings from Magazine Clippings

October 4, 2010

Do you believe I made these with old InStyle magazine clippings? I was inspired by an idea I saw on PS I Made This. Here are the cheap and easy steps:

You need cut-out images of jewels like earrings, rings, necklaces etc that you like, Mod Podge, paintbrush, card stock or cardboard, scissors and/or exacto knife, and earring findings.

The fun part! Create your earring (without the Bulgari price tag)- mix and match beads, diamonds, & jewels to make a cool shape and color combo. Use Mod Podge to glue to the paper stock, when you have the earring you want, put a thin layer on top to seal it and let dry.

Cut the shape out, you can glue ribbon to the back for a finishing touch if you want. (I did that to the ones on the left.) Use the exacto to make a hole for the finding and you are ready to go.

These earrings are light, fun, green, and cheap!

Love it!
